KFB Only God Could Have done this: I was using a Nokia 3310 for years
I proclaim God's power today as l recount HIS work in my life.
His majesty is over His people, His might is in the skies.
My testimony may be different from all the others you have read In this column and is different.
It is a very personal victory.
Four or five years ago, someone forgot her phone on my table in my office.
I did know who it might be among a lot of people that came that day.
No one came back to ask for it for some hours till 3:30pm
But within the hours of 10am and 3:30pm, l faced a hell of bombardment from the enemy of my soul.
I was and am still a Christian, but the temptation was much on me.
I had only a cheap phone at that time-Nokia 3310.
But the phone left on my table was a bit on high side-Newly introduced Nokia 200 Asa.
'This could be a gift, disguised, left for me especially when no one came asking for it.'
'I should take it, remove the sims and put mine, for me to start browsing.'
'Anyone could have anything just anyhow'
'Anyone could have anything just anyhow'
The battle raged on fiercely in my mind that in the process l switched the phone off before 1pm.
This is partial success of the enemy to cage me. My mind was in tumoil.
I did not want to take it. And l love to take it. In my mind l fear God. And the way the Spirit of God in me was talking to me was not forceful. I needed a power to help me out.
But the power of the flesh which was the power of Satan was driving me hard in not wanting me to release it. At least, according to that spirit, my status would change.l would be among those who would be using two sims and would proudly display the 'new' phone.
Truly, my mind was made up.l would wait till l get home before removing the sims. Not in the office.
Do you know l even prayed?
The prayer was that if no one came for it, then it was for me.
And how would anyone come for it when l had switched it off.
I bless God. l magnify His name. Truly the hearts of men are in His hand to direct.
God,help us that we will not sin against You as to direct us to our destruction in Jesus name.
I was on my way home,in a bus when the Holy Spirit began to minister to me. The voice was soft and soothing, calming my frayed mind.
'What is in the phone that you want to make your own, depriving another person of her possession?'. The first question.
Why did the person forget it on my table? She has to pay for her carelessness. I was replying in my mind.
If you die now or have a problem out of this, what do you gain?. Another question.
But...but... I could only mutter.
Then the Grace came in.
'Would you not rather ask for the grace to be so placed as to be giving people phones instead of searching for people's phones to see and take?'
The question hit me.
God can do it. Yes, HE can do it for me.
A little tear rolled in my eyes.
' God, l know You can make me a blessing to people. I am sorry for what l had allowed. Thank You for Your Word'.
Immediately, l switched on the phone and the call entered with a voice telling me she was the owner of the phone. I just said,' Thank, You, Jesus'.
And the phone was returned the following day with joy in my heart and seeing the joy too in the other person's countenance.
I was freed.
From that time, God has been taking care of me. Not long after that time, God made way for me to get my own Nokia 200.
As if that was not enough, l have been made to get one or two people who needed phones, phones . And phones are sown to me too. New and expensive ones that l could not buy by myself, even to tabs.
This is what only God can do.
That is why l say l don't want to hide my battle and victory to the world.
One steals because one has no hope of ever being raised by God Who created one, to be of help to mankind.
The short term happiness one derives in satisfying one's strange desires is nothing near what God can do for one and through one.
Our battles rage from the heart.
I thank God l passed that. HE gave me hope and fulfilled it for me.
Hallelujah.
