Jay Z Now Master Of His Own Destiny

Jay Z Now Master Of His Own Destiny
Lawsuit against Jay-Z by former sound engineer dismissed. Jay Z was sued July last year by his sound engineer, Chauncey Mahan, who claimed he was the sound engineer instrumental to creating the sound for a number of Roc-A-Fella's biggest recordings, including The Life and Times of S. Carter and The Dynasty album.

Mahan claims he was a key producer and creator of Roc-A-Fella's entire body of work between 1999 - 2000 and Jay has been in court with Mahan, who was holding the masters to The Life and Times of S. Carter and The Dynasty albums.

There were 41 tracks, 31 with Jay and 10 with Beanie Sigel and Mahan, as sound engineer on the albums, claimed ownership and stashed boxes of tracks in a San Fernando Valley storage facility. According to TMZ, cops eventually seized the masters from the former Roc Nation staff but Mahan didn't back down; he went ahead to sue Jay and Roc Nation.

However, a judge just shut him down, ruling out that he waited for too long to sue Jay. So Jay Z owns his master completely. 'Life and Times of S. Cater' sold out triple platinum, contains songs like 'Big Pimpin' and 'Jigga my N****.'

Now, Jay Z is once again the proud owner of some of his own classic music and by extension, his destiny.
